Omolara: I just started grad school last year and I met Rikeisha in a journalism class about food culture so we went on a tour of the best restaurants in New York.

Rikeisha: So we were taking this food writing course and of course you know there’s not a large demographic of black people in grad school. So you automatically single out the black people in your classes like, “Hey girl, Hey!” So we sat next to each other and we continued to sit next to each other and I would always offer her food.

Omolara: Her hair was always amazing too. I feel like we vibed off nice lipstick and [her] hair.

Rikeisha: Yeah, I had my afro then.

Omolara: She did my hair.  (point to her hair) This fabulosity is from Rikeisha.
