My name is Rolaka. I currently go to FIT. I’m 20-years-old. I’m Panamanian. That’s my background but I do identify as a black woman. I feel like sometimes I can’t really satisfy both [people on] both sides. I do have my Spanish friends who are like, “Oh, you’re Hispanic. You don’t act Hispanic. You’re always saying that you’re black.” But then I have my black friends who say, “No you are black.” But I, personally myself, I’m a black woman. That’s what I identify as. Take it or leave it. That’s who I am.
