When Mzznaki Tetteh, a Ghanaian nurse, posted her engagement photos with her groom-to-be on Instagram, her goal was likely that of most soon-to-be married women: to share her joy.  Little did she know the harsh criticism that often comes via social media would blast her into the spotlight.

Tetteh’s story has since been shared on several major media outlets, so guess who won?  It’s sad that in 2016 people still feel being plus size means a woman isn’t worthy of love.  We applaud Tetteh for shutting her haters down and showing everyone that loving yourself is the best remedy to combating negative stereotypes and bogus beauty standards.
