First Black Transgender Model Re-enters The Modeling World After Being Blackballed For Years


Back in the 70s, Tracey Norman had built a rock solid career in modeling.  She appeared in ESSENCE magazine countless times, she signed a contract with AVON, and she was the face of Clairol’s dark auburn hair color box.

About a decade after she entered the business it all came crumbling down after she was outed.  Norman who is transgender shared her story in detail with New York Mag’s blog, The Cut last December.  Many say it was that exposure that allowed her to reignite her career as the newest face of Clairol.  Watch as she shares her story from the past and how she feels about being asked back as a model for the prestigious brand.
