Real Beauty Moment: Close To Perfect

I think I will always try to be as close to perfect as possible. I don’t think I will get to a point where I just don’t care anymore. It’s just my personality. My sister, she got there a long time ago. She’s so beautiful.

Life Changes

I lost my mother and that rocked my world. I’m still figuring it out. It’s not really recent. It happened almost 10 years ago. It still feels recent.

Beauty Struggles

The hardest thing is when you’re younger trying to see images of yourself—your skin and your hair and your weight. Being from Atlanta, moving to New York City I had to give myself a pep talk. As a black woman I’m fine just how I am. Like I think what Kanye did with his open call was a beautiful thing. And then his fashion show, that’s only in New York compared to the South. It was such a reflection of beautiful African American, Caribbean American, and African women.
