When it comes to hair, I’ve come to appreciate our thick afro hair. I think it comes down to major influences like Solange. It just makes you appreciate that as a black person more.
Black Girl In Europe
I’m Nigerian. I was born in Ireland but I came here when I was 14. I experienced racism in Ireland moreso than I did here because London is more diverse. The place where I was living in Ireland, I was one of the few black people in my school. Especially when we were reading books like To Kill A Mockingbird, I felt really awkward and people would be staring or like, they didn’t want to offend me.
My Dreams
I want to be a fashion designer, but right now I’m doing a lot of styling and creative direction for independent magazines. I’m just work my way up. I’ve got various fashion shows but I want to start my own real soon.
