Real Beauty Moment: What My Mother’s Life Altering Illness Taught Me

Hairstyle wise, seeing what fits me best and not caring about what other people think was something I had to overcome. Like with how big my hair is now, if I go anywhere sometimes people look at me weird versus if I have straight long hair or like a sew in. I think not caring what other people think and just doing what I want to do and knowing what looks good on me was something I had to learn.

Happiest moment

Recently last summer for my 21st birthday, I had a lot of fun. I went to Italy with my friends and it was so fun. I was just like in a euphoric moment. I’m only 21 so I probably have a lot of moments coming up, but I would say that’s a really fun and happy moment for me.

Life altering moment

When I was 15, my mom had a brain surgery. So that altered everything. She’s okay, she’s not back to her normal self but I’m just so happy that she made it. I was the only child so I was kind of like, ‘ah, what’s happening?’ I feel like that altered my life but also in a positive because I feel like I don’t take things for granted as much.
