When life becomes challenging, it’s so easy to forget all of the wins we experience. This year I’m making it a point to celebrate my victories from last year and beyond; like when I was named one of Essence’s Woke 100 Women for 2017. The best part about such an honor is knowing it came from a team of amazing Black women! It was a reminder for me to keep doing what I’m doing to honor Black women as well. I was so excited to see Essence continue with the #Woke100 this year. What an important batch of honorees! When we uplift one another, there’s no better feeling.
