Introduce yourself
My name is Sonni and I’m an MUA, Youtuber, Makeup Enthusiast, Beauty Blogger, and all around advocate for making yourself feel beautiful! I was born and raised in Florida but I currently reside in Atlanta, GA.
What inspired you to start beauty blogging?
I’ve always had a passion for makeup and all things beauty. I’m of the school of thought that when you look better you feel better. Doing and wearing makeup has these special transformative powers about them that I live for. Regardless of what you’re going through, if you get your face beat, get your hair and nails done and throw on a nice outfit, I can guarantee you’ll feel better. So I started practicing on myself and I eventually branched out into doing other people’s makeup. I initially started making YouTube videos as a way to document my process, so I can always see how far I’ve come. That’s still the case today. Makeup and all of the trends are ever changing and I always want to be a student of makeup. So my channel now is just inviting people to come on my journey as I learn!
Describe your style and what inspires you.
Genuine creativity inspires me. Whenever I come across a unique look, something just dope, it makes me want to go paint my face. I’m all for the natural and pretty looks, I wear them every day. But it’s something about seeing people express themselves through makeup that really motivates and inspires me.
What are your go-to style pieces, accessories, and beauty items?
Hoop earrings are my go-to style piece and accessory. You won’t be able to catch me out without some hoops. My go-to beauty item would have to be red lipstick. I feel the most confident and sexy in a red lip, it’s my absolute favorite.
How do you defy society’s typical beauty standards?
By being myself. I do what makes me feel beautiful regardless of what society tells me I “should” do. Beauty is completely subjective, once you understand that, you win!
